AR Robert LarsonAmerican Flag ColorCaribou — Robert A. Larson, 62 died unexpectedly October 4, 2011 at Caribou as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Caribou October 11, 1948, the son of Arthur and Estella (Lane) Larson. Mr. Larson was a 1966 graduate of Caribou High School and had been employed by several area potato growers as well as several local wood products companies. Robert served with distinction and was a proud member of the US Army Infantry during Vietnam and was the recipient of numerous medals and commendations including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the Perkins Plourde Post American Legion of Stockholm as well as the Lister Knowlton Post VFW of Caribou. He was a member of the Caribou ATV club and he will be fondly remembered by all for his many stories.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Estella of New Sweden are two sons, Paul Larson of Perham and Nathan Larson of Caribou; one daughter, Penny Johnson of New Sweden; two stepdaughters, Trudy Kopyc of Portland and Traci Brown of S. China; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Doug Larson of New Sweden and Brian and Barb Larson of Lilburn, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon Larson and her husband, Scott Anderson of Alexandria, VA and Joan and Maurice Levesque of Little Madawaska Lake; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Larson was predeceased by his father and one daughter, Carrie.

Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gordon Compton officiating. Interment took place at the New Sweden Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com
