WASHBURN — Nathan Scott’s new cookbook, “OpenKitchen: Annual Recipes 2011,” offers more than the complete recipe collection from season one of Scott’s popular televised cooking series. It’s filled with a wealth of cooking advice, resource guides and plenty of kitchen wisdom that illustrates just how fun and easy cooking can be.

Published by Monkey Publishing in late September, “OpenKitchen: Annual Recipes 2011” is organized by season to help readers take advantage of healthy and affordable seasonal produce.

“Most of the recipes are quick to prepare and require only basic cooking skills, making this a book for time-pressed home cooks. And with full-color photographs accompanying each recipe, readers are sure to know that the dishes they prepare look just as delicious as they taste,” said Nathan Scott, author.

Scott is a 2008 culinary arts graduate of Paul Smith’s College. Upon graduating, he moved to Florence, Italy, where he studied food writing and food photography, as well as worked as a chef instructor. He now lives in northern Maine and shares his culinary expertise with others on his series of televised cooking segments, called “OpenKitchen,” which air weekly on WAGM-TV.
