Lunchtime crash injures two

PRESQUE ISLE — Traffic was briefly delayed Friday following a lunchtime accident at the intersection of Main and Maysville streets that injured two.
The Presque Isle Police Department received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection near the Aroostook Centre Mall around 12:44 p.m.

Officer Larry Fickett responded to investigate, assisted by Sgt. Joey Seeley and Officers Brian McQuarrie and Danielle Levesque.
“Justin Pelkey, 20, of Fort Fairfield, was operating a 2011 Honda Civic eastbound from the Connector Road. Lisa Scott, 40, of Mars Hill, was driving a 2002 Chevy Blazer westbound on Maysville when the crash occurred,” said Fickett.
Scott was reportedly attempting to turn onto Main Street when she struck the front of Pelkey’s car.
Crown Ambulance transported Scott to The Aroostook Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Pelkey’s passenger, 19-year-old Briana McFadden, of Presque Isle, was also transported by Crown to the hospital, complaining of leg pain.
Both vehicles sustained extensive front-end damage. Jerry’s was called to tow Scott’s SUV. Pelkey’s vehicle was towed by Impact Auto.
Also assisting at the scene were personnel from the Presque Isle Fire Department. Traffic was back to normal within a half hour.
