PRESQUE ISLE — A mother and daughter from Presque Isle have been charged in connection with the assault of a local man on Sept. 17.
The Presque Isle Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a Presque Isle woman who reported seeing two women show up across the street (Allen Street) and kick the door in. The women reportedly then began assaulting a male subject there.
Officers Kevin Schumacher and Danielle Levesque responded to investigate.
Around the same time, the 42-year-old male victim called advising he was just assaulted by two women, identifying them as Mary Kimble, 52, of Presque Isle, and her daughter, Lacee Crawford, 38, of Presque Isle.
According to the police log, the man said Kimble and Crawford had just left and were headed toward Main Street in “a government truck” described as a blue Ford. He told police they turned right on Main Street and were most likely headed to the USDA building by the Family Dollar Store, as they were not supposed to be in the truck.
The victim told police he believed the attack was in retaliation for his reporting Crawford recently for a bail violation and that the mother, Kimble, was upset about it. He indicated Kimble had kicked in the door and then both women assaulted him, with Kimble breaking his nose. He refused medical treatment however.
Schumacher located Kimble and placed her under arrest for burglary and assault, with a Superior Court date of Nov. 17. Kimble was able to make bail.
Tom Stevens, director of the USDA office in Presque Isle, confirmed Kimble is employed by the department but did not know who had department vehicles over the weekend.
Crawford was summonsed for assault and violation of condition of release. She was given a Presque Isle District Court date of Oct. 26.
