The high school soccer season continues with hard play from local teams.
On Monday, the Hodgdon boys and girls soccer teams hosted Central Aroostook, with both teams taking losses from their opponents.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Panthers blanked Hodgdon, 11-0.
Racheal Grew led CAHS with four goals, while Olivia Garrison netted two. Breanne York, Marissa Anthony, Vicki McIntyre and Whitney Klein all had one tally apiece.

In goal, McIntyre had five saves for the 4-4-2 CAHS Lady Panthers.
For Hodgdon, 0-7, three girls combined in goal, as Cassidy Clark, Jamie Theriault and Jessica Neher made 24 saves.
For the boys, Central Aroostook picked up a 7-0 win behind two goals and an assist by Dan Brewer. Brendan Anthony and Spencer Stetson each scored twice, with Spencer Garrison adding an assist. The Panthers improved to 5-3-2. Dylan Murray and Joe Stiles contributed assists, while goalie Ross Grass stopped 20 of 22 shots faced.
For Hodgdon, Tristan Larson in goal was peppered with 50 shots, coming up with 40 saves for the 3-4 Hawks.
In Stacyville on Monday, the Katahdin Cougars fell to Ashland by the score of 4-1.
Victor Cloukey scored off Braden Cunningham’s assist for 1-5 Katahdin’s lone goal. Jesse McNally and Cody Brownlee combined for seven saves on 12 shot attempts.
For Ashland, 1-6, net keeper Jamie Dozier had four saves on seven shots.
Last Saturday, the Houlton Shiretowners improved their season record to 4-1, as they handed visiting Calais a 7-1 loss behind Jimmy Fitzpatrick’s three goals and assist. Lucas Anderson scored twice, while Cody Woods and Kyle Bouchard had a tally apiece. Isaac Cone and Jordan Russell each had two assists, while Dan Howe added one.
Kole Buzzeo stopped two of four shot attempts for Houlton.
For Calais, 1-2-1, Jeremy Beers scored unassisted and goalie Joel Leeman had nine saves against 19 shots.

In the opening girls game, Meagan Cavanaugh scored the game-winner just 10 minutes into the second half for Calais for a 2-1 victory.
Cavanaugh had scored the first goal for Calais to tie the game. Emily McCadden added an assist. Goalie Paige Gillespie made three saves against nine shots as Calais improves to 3-1.
For Houlton, Alana Pratt provided their scoring in the first half, as Amanda Fogarty picked up the assist. Goalies Marina Cameron and Tanika Toby combined for four saves on seven shots. The Lady Shires slip to 2-2-1 on the year.
At Danforth on Saturday, the East Grand Vikings suffered a 4-0 loss to Shead, which scored three times in the first half.
Shead’s goalie Cody Preston turned away four of nine shots faced, as the Tigers improve to 4-0.
For East Grand, 0-4, goalie Alex Brittain rejected 20 of 34 shot attempts.
Last Friday, the Houlton Shiretowners hosted Mattanawcook Academy, taking a 3-0 win, as Jimmy Fitzpatrick scored and added two assists, while Kyle Bouchard scored and added an assist and Nick Guiod tallied a goal.
Goalie Kole Buzzeo had one save on one shot for the Shires.
For Mattanawcook Academy, goalie Austin Smith turned back nine of 13 shots for the 0-4 Lynx.
At Greenville last Friday, Southern Aroostook was edged 4-2 behind Henry Hersey’s two goals and two assists.
Patrick Goodall banged in two goals, one on a penalty kick, for the 3-1-1 Warriors.
For Greenville, goalie Cory Henderson made six saves on eight shots, as the Lakers improve to 3-1-1, as well.
SACS’ goalie Jessie Boulier turned away eight of 12 shots faced.
At Greenville last Friday, the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors were edged 2-0 behind Miranda Drinkwater and Olivia Bouchard’s goals. Lindsay Fenn assisted on Drinkwater’s first-half tally.
Greenville goalie Carli Peat was a perfect 4-for-4 between the poles, for the 4-2 Lakers, while Mallary Lawlor rejected seven of nine shots for the 2-1-2 Lady Warriors.
Last Wednesday, the Katahdin Cougars fell to 1-4 on the year with a 1-0 loss to host Fort Fairfield.
The Tigers’ Jacob Wortman followed a free kick by Tyler Churchill and broke in to goal with 22:06 left in regulation, pushing the ball in the corner. Goalie Chris Weeks had eight saves.
For Katahdin, goalie Jesse McNally made seven saves.
The visiting Southern Aroostook Warriors blanked Ashland, 3-0, last Wednesday.
Pat Goodall scored twice and assisted on the third goal by Cody Lassonde. Goalie Jesse Boulier had 12 stops on 15 shots faced.
At East Millinocket, the Houlton Shiretowners picked up their second win, 5-0, over the Schenck Wolverines.
Jimmy Fitzpatrick scored twice, while Dan Swallow, Cody Woods and Nick Guiod each had single tallies. Kyle Bouchard added an assist, while Ethan Morse had two stops.

In girls action last Wednesday, the Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors tied with host Ashland, 2-2.
Olivia Raymond and Katie Prescott gave the Lady Warriors a 2-1 lead before Ashland’s Anna Paradis headed in Kayla Cote’s kick with 32 seconds left in the game. Paradis scored Ashland’s first tally and goalie Macie Bellanceau had 17 saves.
For Southern Aroostook, goalie Mallory Lawlor set aside 14 shots faced.
Last Tuesday, the Houlton Lady Shires powered by the visiting Schenck Wolverines, 5-0, with the help of two goals scored by Alana Pratt, while Amanda Fogarty and Mikaelah Tracy each scored and added an assist. Abby Deveau’s tally provided the winning margin.
Combining in goal, Marina Cameron and Tanika Toby stopped two shots for Houlton.
For Schenck, Kristen and Morgan Thompson combined in net to make 13 saves.
At Hodgdon, the Lady Hawks were defeated 3-1 as Wisdom’s Sarah Paradis scored twice and had an assist.
Britta Oliver scored Hodgdon’s lone goal, while netkeepers Cassidy Clark combined with Jamie Theriault to make 20 saves. Ashley Beaulieu made 10 stops.
The Hodgdon Hawks took a 4-2 win over Wisdom last Tuesday behind Brandon Malone and Josh Hudson’s break-away goals 50 seconds apart in the second half. Malone went alone on Wisdom goalie Nathan Oaks with a score at the 17:50 mark, while Hudson hit his shot with 17:00 left.
Keegan Gardiner tied the game 1-all early in the second half on an assist by Drew Gough, while Chris Hudson added a tally, assisted by Tyler Barton.
In goal, Erik Ryan finished with 10 saves on 18 shots for Hodgdon, while Oaks stopped 17 of 27 shots faced.
