Grades 1-2 soccer
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for its grades 1-2 soccer program, which gets under way this week. The program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m. through Oct. 6. Pre-registration is required.
Fall outings for adults and seniors
There are some outings coming up geared toward adults and seniors. A flyer with a full list of trips is available at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
For those ages 18-55, a guided bike tour along Aroostook County’s rail beds is slated for Sept. 10. A guided overnight trip to Baxter State Park will take place Sept. 17-18. and a guided fly fishing trip for the same age group is Sept. 24.
For those 55 and older, a guided birding tour is set for Sept. 13 and a guided sightseeing tour to Oxbow is Sept. 15. Also on Sept. 20, a guided sightseeing tour to Spudland Alpacas/Wood Prairie Farms is on the agenda, while on Sept. 22, a sightseeing tour to Knot II Bragg Farms, followed by potato picking, is scheduled.

Volunteers sought
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Halloween Party slated for Monday, Oct. 31. Individuals, businesses and organizations interested in providing a game or activity during the two-hour event are asked to contact the recreation office at 493-4224.
Soccer schedule
The schedule for Sept. 7 in the grades 3-4 soccer league will see the Galaxy and Rapids square off at 6 p.m., followed by the Metrostars against the Fire at 7 p.m.
On Sept. 12, the Revolution and the Fire will do battle at 6 p.m., with the Rapids and Metrostars meeting at 7 p.m. The games will be played at the Teague Park soccer field.
In grades 5-6 action Sept. 7, Chelsea and Liverpool will play at 6 p.m. and Manchester United and Arsenal will match up at 7 p.m.
The Sept. 12 slate includes practices for both Arsenal and Liverpool at 6 p.m. and for Chelsea and Manchester United at 7 p.m. These will take place at the Soucie Sports Complex.
