    SHERMAN – Merle “Mike” Bouchard, 88, died Sept. 1, 2011, in Houlton. He was born Oct. 3, 1922, in Silver Ridge, the son of Ray and Nina (Welton) Bouchard.
    He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Sherman Lumber after 50 years.
    He is survived by four children, Teddy Allen of Pensacola, Fla., Pam and Alden Tracy of Southwest Harbor, Julie Glidden of Stacyville and Michael R. Bouchard and Ann Correia of Bangor; fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn “Molly” McNally of Silver Ridge. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; and three children, Maurine, Lindy and Kim.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman. Interment will be at Sherman Corner Cemetery. For an online memory book and to leave condolences, please visit www.bowersfuneral.com.
