Hunter Safety Course
A Hunter Safety course will begin Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 6-8:30 p.m. and conclude on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Attendance is mandatory at both sessions. The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife present this course at the Houlton High School cafeteria.
Cake Decorating Begins
Cake Decorating class begins Tuesday Sept. 13, from 6-9 p.m. at the Houlton High School. This class will meet for nine sessions; is taught by Cindy Webb, and the course fee is $50 (materials extra).
Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Time Correction
The time for the Adult Vocational Region Two PSS class was incorrectly advertised in the Fall schedule. The correct time is 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Becky Russell, RN, teaches this 50-hour class and there are still openings.
Intro to Social Networking/SKYPE
The Houlton Cary Library and Houlton Hodgdon Adult Education are offering a free, hands-on session on Skype and Facebook at the Cary Libraray on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 from 6:30-8 p.m. facilitated by Bernadette Farrar. Call to pre-register.
AARP Driving Course at Higher Ed Center
Houlton Higher Education and AARP announce a 4-hour AARP Driver Safety course to be held on Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center. This course is open to AARP members ($12 fee) and non-members ($14 fee). Those who complete the course may be eligible for an insurance company discount. The class minimum is 10.
