Labor Day run

The annual Aroostook Saving and Loan Viking Run will be held at the Caribou High School track on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. Registration for the ten different children’s races begins at 8:15. Runners from age 2 through the 8th grade are encouraged to attend. Pre K and kindergarten runners compete in a quarter-mile run. The first, second, third and fourth graders run a half-mile mile. The fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight graders run one mile. There will be trophies for the top 3 male and female finishers in each race. Ribbons and tee-shirts will be awarded to all the young athletes who take part.

Labor Day run part 2

Also on Monday at the Caribou High School is the final challenge series race for the Aroostook Musterds running club. The 5K Viking Run begins at 9 a.m. For more information contact Chris Smith at 768-9472.

Harvest Classic rescheduled

Due to Tropical Storm Irene, the Harvest Classic Race or Tour was postponed to Labor Day Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.  Come over to Caribou High School for a perfect afternoon to get out on your bike.  You can choose a one loop easy paced tour with lots of great scenery or a two loop race if you feel like a good workout instead.

Officiating clinic

People interested in becoming a basketball official can attend an officiating school for new officials beginning October 3 at the Presque Isle High School.
