Environmental officials tour Aroostook County

A three-day trip for federal and state environmental officials concludes today with a visit to the Loring Development Authority to view tribal lands on the site.

Curt Spalding, regional administrator of U.S. EPA New England Region,  and Pattie Aho, acting commissioner of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, planned to visit several work sites in Aroostook County to witness first-hand job-creating projects helping rural northern Maine.

Visit locations included the Presque Isle Drinking Water Facility, the former McCain processing plant in Washburn, the new Limestone Wastewater Facility and a Loring site owned by the Aroostook Band of Micmacs.
