Diamonds and great service are forever at Freme’s Jewelry

This year Freme’s Jewelry, located at 14 Sweden Street (the sunny side of the downtown mall) is celebrating 61 years of being in business in Caribou. The original jewelry store was established in 1950 by Sam Freme.

In April of 1988, Phil and Kirsten Albair purchased the business from Tom and Kathy Byrnes and within a few years moved the business to a smaller, high-traffic site, to its current location.

Freme’s Jewelry sells a unique selection of fine jewelry styles in 10, 14, and 18 karat white and yellow gold set with precious and semi-precious colored stones and bright lively diamonds. The local jeweler offers new lines of sterling silver jewelry as well as new styles of necklaces and earrings, handmade with natural stones found throughout the world. A variety of the earth’s treasures can be discovered at Freme’s with many styles to choose from, not found in chain stores or catalogs.

To sustain a tasteful and unique collection of jewelry items, Albair buys from manufacturers located in California, Florida, Boston and New York. In general, no item is ordered in multiples.

“The purchase of a piece of fine jewelry is a golden opportunity to show your feelings for that someone special,” said Albair, “Purchasing such gifts is a personal present that does not require daily maintenance and will be worn for decades,” he added.

Freme’s Jewelry offers professional repair service on all types of jewelry made with platinum, karat gold, sterling silver and even stainless steel. Resetting diamonds and old stones into current styles and refurbishing older styles is a specialty. Hand engraving is also available.

Cell replacement in every type of watch, (while you wait) no matter where the item was purchased, is provided, plus guaranteed repairs on all types of clocks..

“Repeat customers are what it’s all about,” stated Albair. “If a customer feels comfortable with the level of trust, service and affordable quality, then they become frequent customers.”

“It is always a pleasure to see the smiles on our customers’ faces and to hear the many ‘thank yous’,” Albair said. “We thank everyone who have allowed us to be part of their lives during their special events.”
