Officials with the Caribou Connector Project have issued the following information.
Route 89: The installation of the pre-cast bridge deck is now tentatively scheduled for Sept. 16. The subcontractor, Sunrise Materials, will install the decking during the evening hours, starting as early as 7 p.m. Installation may require two nights at this bridge.
Installation of the pre-cast bridge decking may reduce traffic to one lane with periods of full closure for 10 to 15 minute intervals as the beams are hoisted into place.
Route 1/Van Buren Road: The installation of the second bridge deck is now tentatively scheduled to begin on Sept. 23. As with the Route 89 bridge, this installation will also take place during evening hours, starting as early as 7 p.m. Installation at this location will also require a couple of evenings, with traffic reduced to one lane with 10 to 15 minute intervals of full closure when the beams are being hoisted into place.
