    Johnston, Robert E., 85, August 29, 2011.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment to be held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
PT Robert JohnstonAmerican Flag Color    HOULTON – Robert Earl Johnston 85, died August 29, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born October 1, 1925 in Portland, the son of Fred W. and Albertine (Libby) Johnston.
    Bob was a graduate of Houlton High School, class of ‘43 and Husson College 1947. He served in the Army during World War II. Bob worked for the Houlton Grange Store, the Fishman’s Plumbing and was a State Court Reporter for 30 years. He became a Baptist minister in 1954 and served the First Baptist Church and the Selden Baptist Church for many years and was interim Pastor for several other churches in the area. He was a life member of the Houlton Odd Fellows.
    Bob is survived by his wife, Jean (Lagerson) Johnston of Houlton; four sons, Kurt Johnston of NC, Barry Johnston of NC, Daniel Johnston of Litchfield, and Eric Johnston of Auburn; two daughters, Amy Leeman of Searsmont and Lynta Carter of IN; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grand-children, a very special grand-daughter, Heidi Cookson of VT; one brother, Everett Johnston of Waterville; three sisters, Frieda MacVicar of FL, Edith Johnston of RI, and Sylvia Murray of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Charles Johnston and Ivan Johnston, and his sister, Louise McMackin.
    Friends may call 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, an Odd Fellows service will be held at 12:30 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Revs. Arthur Myers and Russ Hartley officiating.
