PRESQUE ISLE — Cara Miller is well known for the work she does at Cary Medical Center as a Wellness Coordinator and Community Health Coordinator, but her services aren’t confined to the hospital’s inner walls; Miller has her own small practice, Tree of Life Natural Health, where she helps a small but dedicated clientele utilize natural methods to beneficially compliment their current medical treatments.

Cara Miller, shown above, can help clients identify which foods can vastly improve their health and which foods drastically hinder wellness efforts.
In her small Presque Isle practice, Miller offers natural health consultations and reflexology treatments and based on her repeat customers (and an appointment book that’s filled until November), there’s nothing “hokey” about the services provided by Tree of Life Natural Health.
Working for a hospital, Miller believes in the care patients receive at the hands of skilled doctors and nurses of conventional medicine. She also believes that the care hospitals provide can be enhanced with dietary changes and supplements — clients don’t have to choose between natural healing and modern medicine because they go hand-in-hand.
“You’re a whole person, you have different aspects of health,” she explained. “You can still continue to take your medications, but you can come see me for stress release and we can use some lavender on your shoulders to help you relax,” Miller said, laughingly understating the services she provides.
With a score of certifications to her name, including a bachelors of science in community health education and a master’s degree of science in natural health, Miller followed her faith and opened Tree of Life Natural Health. Since then, she’s consistently helped her clients benefit from the knowledge she’s gleaned throughout her life.
One woman, for example, was experiencing a lot of
pain due to MS. Working with Miller, the woman eliminated aspartame-laden soda from her diet and, with a combination of other treatments she was going through, “it really helped relieve the pain,” Miller said.
“Ever since I was young, I had a desire to know about God’s provision, and I grew up in an environment knowing that the healing properties were for our use, from the seeds to the herbs,” Miller said.
She has a strong faith in the healing power of nature and the ambition to live her faith, but Miller also remains respectful toward each client’s personal beliefs — even when they differ from her own.
But whether or not a client shares her faith, they can both agree in the success of the programs available at Tree of Life Natural Health.
“We’ll take, for example, the cleansing assessment; it’s two-fold — your diet and your supplement,” Miller explained. “If someone’s faithful with their regiment, I often see results in the end of their timeframe, which is usually three to six weeks; if they’re not faithful, we don’t see results. It’s like everything else in life,” she added, “you have to be committed to it, you have to be faithful and truthful and you will reap the rewards.”
A few of Miller’s clients have fallen off the proverbial wagon, but not the majority.
“I’ve been very blessed; I’ve had so many clients that have been committed, which gives me joy because it doesn’t waste their time and money,” she said.
Whether clients are looking for help managing arthritis, relieving stress, healing a pulled muscle or beating that battle with lethargy, they keep coming back to Tree of Life Natural Health for Miller’s expert care.
Miller operates her practice through faith and a philosophy derived from the Bible: “He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season; and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.” – Psalm 1:3.
