During the Island Falls Summer Fest celebration, a fishing derby was held. The winners were as follows:
Bass: Carol Blood, $100 winner, 3.85 pounds; Robert King, $75 winner, 3.65 pounds; Laurie Dow, $50 winner, 3.1 pounds and Shaun McNally, $25 winner, 2.85 pounds.
Pickerel: Bruce McNally, $100 winner, 2.20 pounds; Lindsey Smith, Emma Smith and Holli Landry, three-way tie, $75 winner, 1.85 pounds; Joe Constant, Tim Otis, and Bodie Russell, three-way tie, $50 winner, 1.75 pounds and Lloyd Phillips, Sr., $25 winner, 1.65 pounds.

Special drawings (for those who did not win a cash prize, but weigh-in a fish) were: Gorilla Step Ladder to Paul Guldemond valued at $70; $50 Walmart gift card to Rusty Smith; $25 cash winner was Brian Norton; $10 cash winner was Kelley Smith and $5 cash winner was Paula Otis.
Local businesses supplied all the prizes.
Lewis Conrad won the 50/50 drawing of $48 and donated it back to the Island Falls Fish and Game Club.
