PRESQUE ISLE – Alice Davis, 78, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at her residence. She was born September 27, 1932, in Blaine, the daughter of Oliver Arthur and Rose (Bell) Harrington.
Alice worked for many years for A&P Distributors and then for Indian Head, Division of Columbia Forest Products.
Alice was an avid reader and was also fond of baking. She was especially known for her date squares and banana bread. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone even if she just met you.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Davis Sr.; two sons, William “Bill” Davis and his wife, Diana of Presque Isle, and Chester Davis Jr. and his wife, Shari of west Palm Beach, FL; four daughters: Sherry Hall and her husband, Gary of Little Rock, AR, Rose Morrissey and her husband, Daniel of Bairdsville, NB, Canada, Jennie Lahue and her husband, Thomas of Clearview, NB, Canada, and Chettina Hackett and her husband, Keith of Colorado Springs, CO; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind a brother, Dale Harrington; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two infant daughters; four brothers: Ross, Wendell, Kent and Merle Harrington; and a son-in-law, Dana Rand.
