HOULTON — If searching for bargains is your cup of tea, than the Houlton Fair Association has got a deal for you. The Fair group will hold a park-wide Flea Market/Yard Sale in Community Park, Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is held in conjunction with the town’s annual Potato Feast Days, Aug. 19-21.
Spots are now being reserved for the sale and are 20-feet long by 10-feet deep.
“This is a great opportunity for you or your organization to sell off items or even clean out your house and make some extra cash,” said Paul Cleary, president of the Houlton Fair Board. “What a great fundraiser. The cost to participate in our flea market is $20 for the day.”
Held in conjunction with the 52nd annual Potato Feast Days, the Fair group will also sponsor a “Battle of the Bands” competition in the park and will also have midway rides from Kavanaugh Amusements from Nova Scotia.
Admission to the park will be free, but there will be charges to ride on the midway rides, Cleary said.
“Greta and Dave will also be there selling hamburgers, hotdogs, steak and cheese subs and other food items for you to enjoy,” Cleary said. “We are also working with a couple of local vendors to do a BBQ on Saturday as well.”
To reserve a space in the yard sale, call 538-1020 for more information or email Cleary at pcleary@pwless.net.
