USDA Rural Development announces new income guidelines

    BANGOR — USDA Rural Development has announced new income guidelines
for its Guaranteed and Direct Single-Family Housing programs.
    Effective July 1, Rural Development has issued new adjusted household income limits, which are used to determine eligibility for the Section 502 Direct and Guaranteed Single Family Housing Programs. These new limits will allow Rural Development to assist more Maine families in obtaining affordable housing or maintain homeownership. The new income limits can be found at the website:  http://eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov/eligibility/welcomeAction.do.
     Rural Development’s Single Family Housing programs are available to low- and moderate-income families to assist them in obtaining affordable homeownership as well as making essential repairs or rehabilitation to their homes. To date this fiscal year, USDA Rural Development has financed approximately 80,000 home loans, nationwide. In Maine USDA Rural Development has assisted 1,469 families or individuals so far this fiscal year in obtaining or maintaining homeownership.
