NMCC Foundation golf tourney set for August 11

Officials with TD Bank and the Northern Maine Community College Foundation have announced plans to host their sixth annual golf tournament at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield on Thursday, August 11. Last year’s event was a huge success with 34 teams competing in the three-person team best ball scramble.

“TD Bank is pleased to again partner on this most enjoyable and beneficial event. Funds raised will support the many worthwhile ongoing activities of the NMCC Foundation and will provide important scholarships for many worthy students through the TD Bank Scholarship Fund,” said Michael Kelley, Sr., regional vice president of TD Bank. “As title sponsor, TD Bank is proud to be a partner with organizations such as NMCC, and, most importantly, pleased to be able to support area students in their quest to pursue higher education.”

In addition to the title sponsor TD Bank, MMG Insurance Company of Presque Isle, Quigley’s Building Supply of Fort Kent and Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Presque Isle, along with the Northern Maine Development Commission, Aramark and WAGM-TV, are major sponsors of the event. Last year’s tournament raised over $16,000, and this year’s event promises to be even more successful with the addition of several new sponsors.

The tournament will also feature a hole-in-one prize, a cruise package sponsored by CruiseOne. Lunch will be provided by Aramark.

“I encourage all to come support this wonderful event,” said Shannon Cook, of the NMCC Foundation. “We are pleased to again have the partnership with TD Bank and the support they give to this major fundraiser. We look forward to another successful event this summer. This golf tournament supports the NMCC Foundation’s scholarship fundraising and directly benefits students.”

Individuals interested in playing in the tournament, attending the dinner or supporting the event through a sponsorship or silent auction donation can contact Cook in the NMCC Foundation Office at 760-1188 or scook@nmcc.edu.
