CARIBOU — Leatha June Wilson, 90, died July 22, 2011, at Van Buren. She was born at Caribou June 22, 1921, the daughter of Harry A. and Pearle E. (Hanson) Churchill. Leatha was employed at J.C. Penney Co. in Caribou for 24 years until her retirement in 1983. She attended the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church. Leatha was an avid reader and loved playing card games and doing cross word puzzles.
She is survived by a sister, Christina Lavway of Presque Isle; several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews including David Lavway, Rick Churchill, Larry Turner, Diane Hemphill, Velva Doody and Joyce Doody; sisters-in-law Una Churchill of Fla. and Eunice Bothwick of Calais. She was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and Ervine Churchill and two sisters Adeline Plissey and Catherine Turner.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with Mary Lou Brown, officiating. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou.
