James Bledsoe of Houlton has been installed as the new District Deputy to the Elks National President for the lodges in the Maine North District of the Maine State Elks Association. The installation occurred at the Order’s 147th Elks National Convention, held in Phoenix, Ariz., where more than 9,000 members and guests were present.
Bledsoe will serve a one-year term. More than 11,300 members belong to 22 Elks Lodges in Maine. Nationally, the Elks give more than $8,500,000 in college scholarships, $8,800,000 to youth programs, and $4,350,000 in military and veterans’ support yearly. Your local Elks lodge fulfills the Elks’ longstanding commitment to provide help for the disadvantaged and programs for veterans and youth in their communities.
