Local soldiers promoted
The Following Maine Army National Guard Soldiers have been promoted.
Matthew Quint, 1SG, 185th En Support Co., Houlton; Joshua Bennett, SGT and Jared Joe Tapley, PV2, 185th En Support Co., Houlton; Steven Beaulieu, SSG, 185th En Support Co., Ludlow; Angela Qualey, SSG, 1136 Trans Co.(-), Benedicta; Ira Cohen, SPC, 488th MP Co. Det 1, Linneus; Jessie Rodweller, SPC, 185th En Support Co. , Linneus; Zachariah Straubel, PFC, 488th MP Co Det 1, Littleton; Timothy Suitter, PFC, Det 1 152d Maint Co. , Hodgdon.
Soldiers were promoted in June 2011.
Quint graduates basic training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Jordan R. Quint graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Randy and Deanna Quint of Rhoda Road, Hodgdon and graduated in 2005 from Hodgdon High School.
