PI Rotary Tournament raises nearly $7000

PRESQUE ISLE — An early morning shower didn’t wash away a good day of golf at the Presque Isle Rotary Club Scramble at the Presque Isle Country Club on Saturday, July 9.

SAVING PAR — Steve St. Pierre addresses the ball to putt on the second hole of the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s annual scramble. 25 three-person teams took part in the event.

25 three person teams helped to raise roughly $6700 for two different projects. One project will benefit the repair of the ski lift at the Quoggy Jo Ski Center and the other is to purchase of a rescue boggan for the Nordic Heritage Center.

Danny Collins, Pat Robertson and Brad Johnson took first gross honors with a 62. First net went to Steve St. Pierre, John Cole and Lewis Hughes with a 55. First gross in the ladies division was won by Jennifer Flynn, Marie Waddell and Michelle Wyman with a 75. Terry hallowell, Sue Guidry and Deanna harris won first net with a 67.

Other division winners were: second gross, Tom Towle, Himie Towle and Bobby Russell; second net, Brian Hamel, Gene Lynch and Benji Lynch; third gross, Dan Hotham, Rick Collins and Barry Madore; third net, Kevin Gregory, Andy Guida and Jon Daisey.
