Construction is underway on new heated changing facilities at the Gehrig T. Johnson Athletic Complex at the Presque Isle Middle School.
The project is expected to be finished before soccer tryouts begin on August 1.
Former SAD 1 athletic administrator Dave Heald, who is also a finish carpenter, is donating the carpentry work. Construction materials are being funded through gate receipts and field rental, not from the district’s operational budget.
The materials are expected to cost about $10,000. Each changing facility on either side of the scoring tower will be 260 sq. ft.
