NMCC to offer Tuning Up Your Computer course
PRESQUE ISLE — Tired of paying for PC repairs? Northern Maine Community College is offering a “Tuning Up Your Computer” course to teach simple do-it-yourself troubleshooting techniques that anyone — not just power users — can follow to fix many of the most common PC problems.
More than just a list of quick fixes, this instructor-led course teaches you how to narrow down problems and find solutions. You will learn routine maintenance practices for computer systems that will help ensure continued operation and extended PC life. Additional topics will include file management, virus protection, installing patches, unzipping files, distinguishing between software and hardware errors, updating device drivers, analyzing running processes, troubleshooting conflicts with hardware and software, and much more.
Tuning Up Your Computer will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday, July 19 and 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost of the course is $89. For more information or to register, contact the College’s continuing education division at 768-2849.
