Those who happened to miss the annual Fourth of July Variety Show/Dinner, sponsored by the Stockholm American Legion/Auxiliary, definitely missed out on not only a true, traditional County Saturday night supper of beans, potato salad and hotdogs, topped off with apple pie, but also the very talented and at times hilarious, entertainment that followed.
The Post Home was filled to capacity (even to the point where extra food in the way of pizza had to be ordered in from Eureka Hall) and diners weren’t disappointed with either the food or the program.
Under the direction of Kathy Robinson, president of the ladies auxiliary, music and humor filled the hall on July 2. Participating in this year’s event were Doug Anderson, Anna Thibodeau, Cammi King, Elsa Thibodeau, David Anderson, Matty Treu, Linda Callison, Karen Anderson, Joe and Amber Moutinho, Gunner Bondeson and Joe, Lisa and Irene Thibodeau. Also Randy and Theresa King, Rita Olson, Kendra Furber, Krysten Maley, Joyce and Connie Akerson, Dana Dixon, Herman Fisher, Jim Plante and Gordy Compton. Piano music was provided by Jo Ellen Winslow, Myrna Dixon was stage manager for the production and Sven Bondeson, served as the evening’s emcee.
