CREDIT UNION DONATION — UCU Campus Branch Manager Candace Roy and UCU Administrative Assistant Lindsay Cooper recently presented Dixie Shaw, director of the Catholic Charities of Maine Home Supplies & Food Bank, with a donation. Representatives from local food pantries were present to accept their checks to bring back to their local food pantries in order to assist friends and neighbors in need.
“Over $18,800 was raised by NorState FCU throughout 2010, and we found it quite an honor to recognize local food pantries with their funds as well as a certificate of appreciation during the 70th annual Membership Meeting.”
Volunteers received a round of cheers and applauds by over 200 members in attendance.
“To all who work tirelessly throughout the year to help our communities assist those who would be hungry if not for these food pantry volunteers, we thank you for your living the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” stated David Rossignol, CEO of NorState FCU.
“It is because of the hard work of our staff and the generosity of our members that we are able to assist the Ending Hunger movement throughout Aroostook County,” added Mr. Rossignol.
