LYNCH, Eugene T., 82, PRESQUE ISLE, June 11, 2011.

PRESQUE ISLE – Eugene T. Lynch, 82, died June 11, 2011, at Mars Hill Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born January 6, 1929, in Easton, son of Edward and Hilda (Williams) Lynch.

He retired from the University of Maine at Presque Isle after 25 years of service, in 1994. Gene was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle.

He was predeceased by brothers: Clement and Clarence Lynch of Fort Fairfield; and sister, Mary Ferland of Presque Isle.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of Presque Isle; six daughters: Karin and Brad Meyer of Weatherby Lake, MO, Cynthia Coffman, Christine Clukey, Carla and Walt Lindsey of Overland Park, Kansas, Debra and Scott Niebel of Delray Beach, Fla., and Carina Lynch of Presque Isle; grandchildren: Christopher Walton of California, Matthew Lindsey, Allison Pearson of Overland Park, Kan., and Morgan and Olivia Meyer of Weatherby Lake, MO; brother, Lawrence and Mona Lynch of Fort Fairfield; sisters: Edwena and Richard Gagnon of Fort Fairfield, and Elaine and John Thomas of Arlington, TX; brother-in-law, Richard Ferland of Presque Isle; sisters-in-law: Inez Lynch and Rolande Lynch of Fort Fairfield; many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends called at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle, where mass was celebrated at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Gene’s memory were asked to write to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1834, Merrifield, VA 22116-8034.
