WASHBURN NEWS

by Tomi Henderson

There will be a Hotdog Roast Fundraiser at the Washburn Boat Landing on Saturday, June 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The menu will include hotdogs, French fries, cans of soda, bottled water and Powerade. So bring the whole family down and enjoy a hotdog or two with French fries and a nice cold drink.

There is a nice playground for the kids to play and a big basketball court to shoot some hoops. There’s also a nice place for swimming and fishing or just a walk along the Aroostook River shore!! There’s easy excess by ATV and vehicles and plenty of parking. All are welcome to attend.

In other club news, members have been grading and widening the Crouseville Trail. It’s been slow due to wet weather. Dust control 20 mph speed limit signs have been posted in Washburn and Crouseville and members have also posted 10 mph speed limits in a short section by the Everette Road due to a person on oxygen. Please help keep the dust down on dusty days by following the speed limits. Club officials will be laying down calcium shortly to help with the dust control on sunny days.

The next club meeting is on July 6 at 6:30 p.m.; it will start with a club barbecue potluck at 6 p.m. (club supplies the hotdogs and burgers). Cans of soda and water are available for 50 cents and Powerade for $1. Club membership is only $20 per year and applications can be printed off from the website at www.washburnatvclub.com/ or contact President Roger Hewitt at 455-8315 and we will send you an application by mail. Visit us on Facebook for trail updates and other club news.
