Cote, Macabe win awards

Two students from New Sweden School were awarded The Maine Scholar Leadership Award; Courtney Cote, left, and Albany Macabe were honored on May 19 at the Augusta Civic Center along with 76 other middle school students statewide. The award was presented to students for their scholastic performance as well as the leadership they have shown within their schools and communities. Cote, 14, is the daughter of Jeff and Tamara Cote of Stockholm. Macabe, 14, is the daughter of Jesse and Anita Macabe of New Sweden. The two recently graduated from New Sweden Elementary School and will be attending Caribou High School in the fall.
