A little common courtesy needed

To the editor:
I am writing this letter concerning all the traffic going through Ricker Plaza Yard. The sign says “Private, No Thru Traffic.” I guess people can’t read the signs. This is a place for senior citizens. There are older people out in the yard, in wheel chairs, and people going with walkers and canes. They are going to the swings which are provided for us. There are children at times and some animals, but people still come through the yard. They come in the yard, go out High Street and then go on to Military Street. I don’t understand what is the problem.
I almost got hit last year because a young fellow thought he was in the right. If I hadn’t started running, I would have been hit. He never even slowed down at all.
I think it is time for younger people to be kind to senior citizens who can’t move as fast as they used to. So please read the signs and do as they say.
