Red Cross lifeguard class set to begin
The Presque Isle Indoor Pool will offer an American Red Cross Lifeguard Class June 11, 18 and 25 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. all three days.
Participants must be at least 15 years old and be able to swim 300 yards doing the front crawl and breaststroke without stopping. They must also be able to retrieve a 10-lb. brick from the deep end of the pool and tow it back in one minute and 40 seconds.
This course will provide certification in first aid, professional CPR/AED and lifeguard. The cost is $200.
A basic water safety class for day care providers who have a wading pool and need this certification will also be offered. The class will be held June 28 from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $25. Please call the pool for more information.
Starting June 20, the indoor pool will begin its summer hours . General swim hours will be weekdays from 1:00 -2:45 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7-8:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1-3:45pm. Lap swim hours will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:15-8 a.m., daily from noon-1 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 5-6 p.m.
