LOUDON, N.H. — Mary Olive (Elison) Morgenstern, 71, died June 2, 2011, at Ridgewood Center, Bedford, after a brief illness.
She was born in Caribou, Maine, Aug. 9, 1939, daughter of Earl and Sarah (Jackson) Buzzell.
Prior to her retirement, she was an executive assistant at AAU and was also employed by the N.H. Department of Safety for many years. She was extremely proud of making more than 100 wishes come true for Make-A-Wish children, was a model for the Hart Agency in Boston, and a member of the Screen Actors Guild who had appearances in both “Love Story” and “The Out of Towners.”
She was also an accomplished artist, pianist, equestrian, pilot, golfer and a marksman. She was a staunch Republican and once head of the Republican National Committee for Arkansas. She advanced for President George H.W. Bush for years and once was dressed up as the Easter Bunny on the White House Lawn. That Easter, her contribution was acknowledged in a personal note from Barbara Bush.
Family members include three daughters, Mary Lou Overs and her husband, Ronald, of Jacksonville, Fla., Kathryn Beauchamp and her husband, Prashant Rana, of Germantown, Md., and Elizabeth (Binette) Senechal and her husband, Dennis, of Manchester. She leaves five grandchildren, Alexis O’Neil, Kristen O’Neil, Samantha Verville, Ashley Schupp, and Eric Beauchamp; and three great-grandchildren, Ayva Booth, Connor Pelchat, and Brielle Scadding.
Some of Mrs. Morgenstern’s original watercolors will be on display at the Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, on Wednesday. Afternoon admission to the gallery is free for those who attend her memorial exhibition from 5 to 6 p.m.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A celebration of life will take place at Richard Brown House, 142 S.
