The Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education program is offering the following courses. To register for these classes or for more information, call 521-3100 ext. 5.
Driving Dynamics course offered
    The Maine Department of Highway Safety and Adult Education announce a Maine Driving Dynamics course at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 8 am until 1:30 pm. This session is for licensed state of Maine drivers who need points or who wish to apply for an insurance discount.  The course fee is $40.  Students should bring their Maine driver’s license and their Social Security number to the class. Students must pre-register by Thursday June 9. Call Adult Education at 521-3100 x5 to pre-register and stop by the office at 18 Military Street to pay for the class.
Intro to Quickbooks
Houlton Higher Education Center Adult Education announces a 2-session Intro to Quickbooks course (Quickbooks 2009). The course will run on two Wednesday evenings,  June 15 and June 29 from 5:30 – 8 p.m. in the computer lab at the Houlton Higher Education Center.  The instructor is Stacey Emery and the course fee is $30.  For more information and to register call Mary Murray at 521-3100 x5.
QLP for loggers and landowners
Independent loggers and area landowners interested in becoming Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified may call for more information about the 32 hour QLP Logger course being planned for late summer or early fall.  The course is offered through the SFI State Implementation Committee, the Maine Forest Service, and Region Two Adult Vocational Education.  Participates will receive training in natural resource best management practices and forest and habitat conservation.  For more information and to be placed on the interest list for this class, call Otis Smith at 521-3100 x5.
