Wildcat Basketball Camp

The Presque Isle girls and boys basketball staffs are offering their 20th annual basketball clinic for interested students in the SAD 1 district.

All boys and girls entering grades 3-8 for the 2011-12 school year are invited to attend. The camp is open to both experienced players as well as those with no basketball experience.

Jeff Hudson, Presque Isle girls varsity coach, will run the clinic and will be assisted by present and former coaches and players.

The camp will take place June 13-17 at the high school. Grades 3-5 will play from 5-6:45 p.m. and grades 6-8 from 7-8:45 p.m.

The cost is $30 per students and family discounts will be offered. Call the PIHS athletic office at 764-6507 or Hudson at 768-5949 for more information.

District softball tourney

The ASA Class D district men’s slo-pitch softball tournament will be played June 17-19 in Caribou.     The top teams from this event will advance to the Class D state championships.

Teams interested in participating should contact Mike Patenaude by June 11 at 227-4328 or 764-6613.

Roll-off results

Northern Lanes recently held roll-offs in their bowling leagues.

In the National League, Aroosta Cast outscored Northern Lanes, 2,982-2,974 in the finals. In the Atlantic League, Bessey’s Bowlers scored a 1,859-1,803 victory over White’s Rollers to win the title.

The Bottlenecks downed BNG Specialty Lines, 3,087-3,064, to take the American League. For the Independent League, CFP defeated Rob’s Pit Stop, 1,968-1,877.

Yo Yo’s garnered a 1,505-1,470 win over Who Cares in the Sunday Mixed Doubles final.

Adult softball schedule

The slo-pitch softball leagues are now under way, and this week’s schedule of games in Presque Isle is as follows:

Men’s league: Thursday, June 2: 6:30 p.m., T.W. Willard vs. Freddy P’s/SOS; 7:30 p.m., Griffeth Ford vs. McCain’s; 8:30 p.m., Gagnon’s Auto vs. McCain’s.

Tuesday, June 7: 6:30 p.m., County Boys vs. Buck’s Construction; 7:30 p.m., Buck’s Construction vs. Merchants; 8:30 p.m., McCain’s vs. Merchants.
