Playoff dates

    As the season winds down, area high school baseball and softball teams are making a run for the playoffs, which will be June 7, preliminary games; June 9, quarterfinals; June 11, semifinals; June 14-15, Eastern Maine finals; and June 18, state championships.
    Due to the inclement weather that has led to the extension of the regular season to May 28, the tennis singles and team tournament schedules have been revised as follows:
    Singles Tournament:  Saturday, June 4, semifinals and finals, Bates College.
    Team Tournament: Wednesday, June 1, prelims, higher seed; Friday, June 3, quarterfinals, higher seed; Monday, June 6, semifinals, higher seed; Wednesday, June 8, East Regional finals, Colby College; Wednesday, June 8, West Regional finals, Bates College; and Saturday, June 11, state championships, Colby College.
