Cao named to dean’s list

BIDDEFORD — Liana Cao, of Presque Isle, has been named to the Dean’s List for the 2010 fall semester at the University of New England. Dean’s List students have attained a grade point average of 3.30 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.

A 2010 graduate of Presque Isle High School, Cao is a nursing major. She is also actively involved at the university as the theater manager of the UNE theater group, the multicultural club and the activities planning board.

Coffin graduates from Clarkson University

POTSDAM, N.Y. — Peter B. Coffin, of Presque Isle, graduated from Clarkson University in May of 2011, with a Masters of Science degree in mechanical engineering.

NESCom students honored

BANGOR — New England School of Communications is pleased to announce the following students have been placed on the school’s honors list for the spring semester of 2011. To receive honors status a GPA of 3.0 to 3.5 needs to be maintained by the student. A GPA standing of 3.5 or above represents high honors status.

Local students recognized include: Steven Carmichael, of Mapleton, BS communications — sports journalism, honors; and Paul Colton, of Presque Isle, BSCT — audio engineering, high honors.

Willette graduates from UMF

FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington celebrated May 14, as 392 graduates, including the first graduates of UMF’s Master of Science in Education — Educational Leadership degree program, marched in the 2011 commencement ceremony on the UMF campus.

Among the graduates was Alexander Willette, of Mapleton, who received a B.A. in political science.
