LIMESTONE — “Summer Fun Days” started at Loring Job Corps Center on Friday May 5, when Loring Job Corps students, staff, friends and family decided summertime was upon them. Events started outside on Friday with a dunking booth of student’s favorite staff members and was followed up by volleyball, tug-of-war matches, basketball games, horseshoes, face painting, one very messy pie eating contest, an incredible barbeque and ice cream sundaes. Fun Day festivities concluded with an a outside DJ street dance that lasted until 11 p.m.

To fundraise during the celebratory event, representatives of the Student Government Association designed T-shirts commemorating the day that were available for purchase. The LJCC has a student body of 380 students from Maine, Mass., N.J., N.Y., Conn., V.T., N.H. and U.S. Virgin Islands that are enrolled into Career Technical Training trades that will provide long-term employment opportunities in the job market.
