Easton athletes honored

Easton Junior-Senior High School held its annual athletic awards night April 26 at the Easton Elementary School Gymnasium.

The evening began with everyone in attendance enjoying a brownie-a-la-mode. Varsity Club co-advisors, Ellen Trask and Darren West, along with Athletic Director Steve Shaw served as mistress and masters of ceremonies for the event.

Coach Michelle Phillips presented certificates to the following junior high girls soccer players: Isabelle Morin, Delia Bonner, Cecilia Ferris, Paige Flewelling, Delaney Leach, Elise Allen, Sara Gilman, Bailee Getchell, Blake Bradley, Emma Bonner, Kerrigan Arnett, Alexandra Allen, Kylee Carter, Taylor Brown, Nichole Dudley, Kelsey Frank, Hannah Ferris, Madison Leach, Kristen West, Caitlin Monroe and Gabrielle Caldwell.  Abigail Thompson and Ashley Hersey were presented with certificates for managing the team.

Coach Phillips presented certificates to the following junior high girls basketball team: Alexandra Allen, Taylor Brown, Kylee Carter, Nichole Dudley, Hannah Ferris, Kelsey Frank, Ashley Hersey, Madison Leach, Toria Tarbox, Abigail Thompson, Emma Bonner, Blake Bradley, Elise Allen and Sara Gilman.  Kerrigan Arnett and Keely Nichols were presented with a certificate for managing the team.

Coach Travis Carter presented certificates to the following junior high boys soccer players: Cody Halvorson, Connor Burtt, Nicholas Clark, Riley Mazerolle, Trevor Hathaway, Dominic Fredette, Logan Halvorson, Drew Sotomayor, Shawn Doody, Jacob Flewelling, Hunter Brown, John Fredette, Carter Mazerolle, Matthew Poole, Collin Sotomayor, Denver Fredette, Ryan West and Jordan Doody.

Coach Keith Richardson presented certificates to the following junior high boys basketball players: Connor Burtt, Nicholas Clark, Cody Halvorson, Zachary Lamoreau, Dominic Fredette, Logan Halvorson, Trevor Hathaway, Drew Sotomayor, Hunter Brown, Jordan Doody and Jacob Flewelling. Caitlin Monroe was presented with a certificate for managing the team.

Varsity cheerleading coach Leslie Carlow presented bars to the following cheerleaders: Brittany Tompkins and Meghan Frank. Pins were presented to Brittanee Blodget and Lauren West. Taylor Lawrence, Kennedy Young and Katelyn Tompkins all received letters.

Coach Rachel Tomlinson presented bars to the following varsity girls soccer players: Ariana Babineau, Katie Cyr, Danielle Dudley, Meghan Frank, Samantha Fuller, Brooke Hammond, Brooke Lunney, Sarah Plourde and Sydney Trask. Pins were presented to Mindy Desmond, Carla Halvorson, Abigail Poole and Marissa Parlin. Letters were given to Haley Ambrose, Cassandra Buck, Mariah Cyr, Stephanie Hammond and Marissa Parlin. Mikaela Hathaway received a manager’s pin.

Tomlinson presented the girls varsity basketball awards. Bars were presented to Katie Cyr, Brooke Hammond, Sydney Trask and Ariana Babineau. Mikaela Hathaway, Abigail Poole, Mindy Desmond and Carla Halvorson received pins. Letters were presented to Mikaela Hathaway. Certificates were presented to Danielle Dudley, Haley Ambrose, Cassandra Buck, Mariah Cyr and Stephanie Hammond. Samantha Buck, Amanda Dayringer and Jolene Guerrette received manager’s pins and Buck and Dayringer also earned their letters.

Tomlinson presented certificates to the girls junior varsity basketball team. Those members include Haley Ambrose, Cassandra Buck, Mariah Cyr, Danielle Dudley, Stephanie Hammond, Marissa Parlin, Abigail Poole and Mikaela Hathaway.

Tomlinson presented certificates to the following girls’ volleyball players: Haley Ambrose, Ariana Babineau, Cassandra Buck, Samantha Buck, Katie Cyr, Mariah Cyr, Mindy Desmond, Danielle Dudley, Meghan Frank, Samantha Fuller, Carla Halvorson, Brooke Hammond, Brooke Lunney, Marissa Parlin, Abigail Poole and Sydney Trask.

Coach Brent Mosher presented certificates to the following boys’ volleyball players: Zachary Clark, Jacob Bacon, Holden Turner, Reid Clark, Cody Tompkins, Jonah Bacon, Carl Mullen, Jared Hafford, Logan Sutherland, Hunter Turner, Ian Sotomayor and Tyler Gadaire.

Coach Ryan Shaw presented awards to the varsity boys soccer team. Bars were presented to Jonah Bacon, Holden Turner, Reid Clark, Jacob Bacon and Cody Tompkins. Carl Mullen and Jared Hafford received pins. Letters were presented to Joshuah Salkind, Colby Pangburn, Jeffrey Condon, Ian Sotomayor and Hunter Turner. Certificates were presented to Derek Mendoza, Cody Halvorson, Riley Mazerolle, Nicholas Clark and Connor Burtt. Managers Brittany Tompkins and Brittanee Blodget both received manager’s pins.

Manager Samantha Fuller was presented with a manager’s pin.

Coach Danny Warren presented certificates to the following junior varsity boys basketball players: Carl Mullen, Harvey Brown, Logan Sutherland, Tyler Gadaire, Hunter Turner, Ian Sotomayor, Cameron Young and Colby Pangburn. Samantha Fuller received a certificate for managing the team.

Jonah Bacon, Reid Clark, Ariana Babineau and Carla Halvorson received special recognition on their selection to the All-Aroostook basketball team. Reid Clark, Holden Turner, Ariana Babineau and Carla Halvorson received special recognition for their selection to the All-Aroostook soccer team. Jacob Bacon, Sydney Trask and Brooke Hammond were recognized for their selection to the 2011 Aroostook County All-Star Classic team. Also being recognized were Reid Clark and Ariana Babineau for their invitation to the 2011 Aroostook League Division II Volleyball Tournament. Halvorson was recognized for being selected to the girls’ All-East Soccer Team.

The evening finished with Athletic Administrator, Steve Shaw, giving special recognition to retiring Superintendent Frank Keenan. Shaw reflected on Keenan’s tenure with the Easton School Department and his unflagging support for all athletic endeavors.
