The April meeting of Beta Sigma Phi, Preceptor Alpha, was brought to order on April 7, by President Paula Flora. Paula was also the hostess for this month.
It was agreed that we would donate $100 to Aroostook Teen Leadership. Final plans were made for Founders Day. Woman of the Year was voted for, with Darylin Keenan offering to buy the gift and president’s corsage. Lynne Walton will purchase a door prize. The election of officers was held for the coming year: President Paula Flora; Vice President Cathy Allen; Recording Secretary Emily Knight; Treasurer Sue Czosnek; Corresponding Secretary Darylin Keenan. Committees will be selected next month.
Miriam Gregg offered to display our quilt and sell tickets at her Farm Days event the last weekend in June. Prices for tickets will be $1 for one and $5 for six. Several ideas were suggested for upcoming ticket sales. We have yet to decide which charities will benefit from our fundraiser. Jane James is responsible for the mystery gift in May. Cares and Shares were exchanged and refreshments were served. The next meeting will be at Lynne Walton’s, 6 p.m. on May 12.
