I am concerned about Aroostook County’s beauty because I live here and it makes me sad to see cars, junk, and trash in the woods. That tells me people don’t care about Aroostook County. I order to make things better. We could begin by picking up trash left by others, prevent littering in the woods by posting signs and trash containers, and recycle more than just cans and bottles for five cents. I am making a difference by picking up trash in the woods and recycling cans, bottles, paper and card board. I tell people not to litter, and I help my dad take out the trash.
I think Aroostook County has a lot of good natural resources. We have rivers, lakes, trees, blackberries, blueberries, maple syrup and many animals. All of these things also help to create tourism which really helps Aroostook County, and we can protect our Natural Resources by replanting trees that get cut down, and using all the parts of the trees.
We can protect animals by picking up trash by their homes, and making sure they have food to eat through conservation. One of the best ways I think, we can help Aroostook County stay beautiful is to make sure we reuse everyday items, rather than throw them away. We can reuse clothes by having a yard sale, or by donating them to the church, or they can be passed on. We can reuse things like toys, bikes, and video games in the same way. We can even reuse our food by saving it for the next day or by piling it up outside for compost to use in the garden. We can reuse cars by giving them to the junk yard so their pieces can go on other cars. We can reuse candles by collecting the wax and making new candles. We can even reuse water bottles by filling them back up from the sink.
I think if we all work together, we could clean up Aroostook County and keep it clean for many years to come. I will do my part and I hope you will do yours.
