The staff at the Northern Maine Development Commission will be sponsoring Customer Service Training for Frontline Staff at three locations beginning on Tuesday, April 26.
“Aroostook County is known for its friendly people and quality work ethic,” stated Leslie Jackson, of NMDC. “When tourists travel to our region, first contact is usually with the clerk at the local convenience store or the waiter/waitress/host at a restaurant. This training will provide individuals with the tools necessary to be prepared for tourists to ensure that they have the greatest experience during their visit to our area,” she said.
“One person’s fantastic experience provides an unlimited amount of exposure and an opportunity for them to come back and hopefully bring more people with them,” Jackson added.
Anyone who provides services to the general public, are encouraged to attend these trainings including gas station attendants, taxi drivers, front desk workers at lodging establishments; retail store clerks, convenience store clerks; wait-staff/host; bartenders and grocery store employees, etc.
Dates, time, and locations for the Customer Service Training for Frontline Staff are: Tuesday, April 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the St. John Valley Tech Center in Frenchville; Wednesday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Northern Maine Development Commission in Caribou; and on Wednesday, April 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center, room 123.
A $10 registration fee is required per person. To register e-mail jdinsmore @nmdc.org or call 1-800-427-8736 and provide name, desired location, address, phone number and e-mail address by April 22.
