Tickets may be purchased at the door that night or from any of the contestants.

The price for the tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for kids and adults.

Children under the age of 4 are free.

Easton Field Days

The Easton Field Days Committee are looking for crafters to participate in their activities on Saturday, July 9th. You will have a choice of either being inside in the gym at the high school or outside. The set-up time will be 7 a.m. the day of the event. The fair will start at 11 a.m. and go until about 3 p.m.

If you are interested in participating this year please call Marilyn Brown at 488-2565.

Birthdays and anniversaries

On April 4th, Donna and Mike Corey celebrated a wedding anniversary. Hope you had a great anniversary. On April 13th Jennifer Carlow, Dan Warren and Lewellyn White all have a birthday. Matthew Hopkins, Ryan Holmes, Sam Bacon and John Fogarty all have a day to celebrate on April 14th. On April 15th Drew Lamoreau, Nola Pendexter, Randy Trask and Elizabeth R. Martin all will be another year older. Eric Nadeau, Anne White, Greg Fitzherbert and Rosanna Jordan will be celebrating their birthdays on April 16th. Also on April 16th Anne and Pete White have an anniversary.

April 17th is Geneva Jones, Diane Dudley and Joan Gray’s birthdays. Also on the 17th of April I would like to say a very special birthday wish for my sweet sis, Peggy Arnett. Lydia Ferris and Gail Dorsey McPherson will be celebrating their birthdays on April 18th. On April 19th Kelsey Burlock, Ian Sotomayer, Taylor Silvia, Roger Wilcox, Elwood Pendexter, Stephen Fitzherbert and Christopher Woodworth all have birthdays. Also on April 19th Joan and Dan Turner have an anniversary.

April vacation activities

Tuesday, April 19 — Kickball tournament at the Caribou Rec Department. This will be a fun morning of competitions. We will be going out to lunch after, please send money. This is open to grades 4 thru 6 only! Signup is required by April 13 in order to set up teams. Please wear an Easton shirt.

Swimming trip to Presque Isle Indoor Pool. Please send a towel and swim suit. The cost is $2 and trip goes from 12:40-3:15 p.m.

Wednesday, April 20 — Indoor soccer tournament at Madawaska Rec. We will be there most of the day so please send money for lunch and snacks. This is open to grades 5-8 only! Sign up is required by April 13 in order to set up teams.

Thursday, April 21 — Wiffle ball tournament at the Caribou Rec Department. We will be going out to lunch after, please send money. This is open to grades 4 thru 6 only! Sign up is required by April 13 in order to set up teams.

Movie field trip to Caribou Theatre. Movie titles will be “Hop” (PG) and possibly “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” (PG). The cost is $5 for ticket, soda and popcorn. The bus will depart from the hall at noon and return by 3:30 p.m.

Friday, April 22 — We will start at the Maple Moose in Easton where we will tour the maple syrup facility and enjoy a maple syrup pop. From there we will go to McDonald’s for lunch and spend the afternoon at Gentile Hall. We will be rock wall climbing and swimming. Children must have swimsuit and a towel. The cost is $6 and lunch money. The outing will take place from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Zumba classes

Zumba and Zumba Gold classes will each begin another session the last week of April. Zumba classes will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15. Zumba Gold will be held from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. Classes will begin on April 25 and run through May 26/27 at the elementary school. The cost is $40 to attend twice per week and $22.50 for once a week. The drop-in rate is $5 for either class.

Kindergarten swim lessons

Children in kindergarten (and those 4 and older who are not in ECP) will have the opportunity to take swim lessons on Mondays from April 25 through May 23. We will leave directly after their 1 o’clock dismissal and return in time to ride the after-school buses home. We will be carpooling to the pool in Presque Isle, so if any parent is available to help, please let Hillary know. The cost is $20, please make checks payable to the Town of Easton and drop them off at the Town Office as soon as possible so travel arrangements can be finalized.

Softball in Easton

There has been interest expressed about having a co-ed adult summer softball league. We haven’t hammered out all the details; rather, we will have sponsored teams or just a “pick-up” league. Please let me know if you have interest in participating or know someone who might. We would like to begin this league in May and have it end on Field Days weekend (July 9). Rec calendar

Wednesday, April 13 — Junior activities for ages 2 and up at the hall from 9:30-11 a.m. No senior exercise class due to Hillary at training. Swimming lessons; the bus departs directly after school and will return by 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 14 — Zumba class from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the elementary school gym.

Friday, April 15 — Junior activities for ages 2 and up at the hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Seniors’ Easter luncheon at 11:15 a.m. in the recreation room at the manor. Please bring your favorite Easter dinner dish. Zumba Gold starting at 3:15 p.m. at the hall.

Saturday, April 16 — Grades 5 and 6 boys’ basketball party at the Brown’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Monday, April 18 — No recreation activities due to holiday.
