Loring students received at Statehouse by Sen. Jackson

AUGUSTA — Sen. Troy Jackson (D-Allagash) welcomed eight students and one instructor from Loring Jobs Corps Center to the Statehouse on March 31. Loring Job Corps Center is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training.

“I was very impressed with these students and I was happy to show them around the Statehouse,” said Jackson. “Loring is a tremendous asset for Aroostook County and the quality of the students is second to none.”

All of the students are student government officials and this trip gave them an opportunity to see state government in action. The students were visiting the Statehouse with advisor Roger Felix.
