Fitness challenge in memory of 1st Ltn. Zimmerman
The University of Maine will be the site of a fitness challenge honoring the memory of 1st Ltn. James Zimmerman from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.
Any four-person team must complete a variety of physical tasks, including situps, pushups, running and conditioning circuits in one of the following four brackets: Hardcore, for the toughest; Hardened, for the intense; Motivated, for the athletic and Family, for the motivated of all ages and abilities.

Rec to offer zumba class
The Houlton Recreation Department is now taking registrations for a new “Zumba” Fitness Class. Classes will be held each Monday at 7 p.m., each Thursday at 6:15 p.m. and each Saturday at 10 a.m. Classes will start on April 30 at the Gentle Memorial Building. Rachel Distefano will be the instructor for this eight-week program.
Registration is limited to 25 participants. Cost for the program will be $55 for Houlton residents and $75 for non-Houlton residents. To register, call the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310 by April 30.
