The participants were part of the fundraiser for the Southern Aroostook Community School junior class. They answered questions asked by Michele King and gave the audience a laugh or two.

DRESSED UP — Participating in the Island Falls “Ms. Pageant” were, from left, Jenica Frazier, aka Frankie K; Mallary Lawlor, aka Carl and Shay Lillis, aka Earl. These girls dressed up as guys to escort the “ladies” but due to lack of participation, organizers decided to judge their group and give the cash prizes to them. First place went to Frankie K; second, Carl and third, Earl.
ENTRIES — There were three entries for the Island Falls Pet Show held in memory of Jarrica Rose Emery. Though there was low participation this year, fun was had by all attended. Winners were, from left, Courtney McDonald with her cat Ivory, winning Best Dressed; Gail Lane with her dog Daliah, won a ribbon for the youngest entry and other prizes; Gabby Lewin, won Most Obedient and Best Of Show, along with a ribbon for largest entry, as well as other prizes; and Kelsey McDonald, won Most Obedient in the youth category and other prizes.

DOG SITTING — Jordyn Bishop watches her aunt’s dogs Margaret and Liloh during the Island Falls Pet Show held in memory of Jarrica Rose Emery. During the show, donations were accepted towards a scholarship in Emery’s memory and $130 dollars was raised for a 2011 Southern Aroostook Community School graduate.
