The Central Aroostook Humane Society will be having a small yard sale at the shelter this week. We have some items that really need homes! Remember, that our $20 sale on cats also ends this month, so adopt your friend for life now. We will also be participating at the Kiwanis Home & Rec Show this weekend at the Forum, so please stop by and visit our booth. We have lots of cool stuff!
On May 22, The Central Aroostook Humane will be participating in the Caribou City Wide Yard Sale. If you have gently-used items that you would like to donate to our yard sale, please drop them off at the humane society at 26 Cross St., Presque Isle. We welcome all gently-used items, just no clothes please. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to spread our wings to a community that we serve. Caribou is the second largest city that we serve and we want to meet you, the community of Caribou, so please visit our yard sale on May 22 at 5 Franklin St.
Spring is here and with it comes fleas. Now is the time to treat your pet. I will advise you to spend that extra money and get the “good stuff.” Do your homework with regards to flea treatment, it is better to treat now than to deal with a flea infestation later. If you are planning on boarding your dog, flea treatment is strongly recommended. I have dealt with flea infestation, having so many critters, and it is not fun and is an endless battle. My dogs and cats are all on preventative, it costs me a fortune, but it is well worth the money spent.
A Cat’s Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray this cushy life to keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice,
And sofa cushions, soft and nice.
I pray for gourmet kitty snacks,
And someone nice to scratch my back,
For windowsills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore at night.
I pray I’ll always stay real cool
And keep the secret feline rule —
To NEVER tell a human that
The world is really ruled by CATS!
