The state of our economy
To the editor:
The status of the U.S. economy continues to struggle because the priorities of the U.S. government remain in question.
I am sure there are thousands of concerned citizens contacting their local Senators and Congressman with their concerns each and every day and yet nothing changes. Concerns such as out of control health care costs, rising fuel prices, high unemployment and fighting wars that are decades old. Their true priorities are getting the next vote, financing their campaigns instead of assisting businesses and protecting the way of life for the working family.
Politics will remain as usual in the weeks and months ahead with both sides trying to take credit for an issue and stalemate being the result, potential government shutdown and out-of-control spending in the wrong areas. They cannot see the true priorities for this country as long as partisan politics continues to blind them.
