STAND OF TREES —

This photo was taken during the leading lines assignment, of which we needed shots of trees. The picture was taken at a friend’s house while my brother and I were waiting for him to get home. The trees are pretty much perfectly lined up in rows and I noticed how interesting the shadows of the trees looked. With this photo, I was able to get leading lines not only from the trees, but from the shadows of the tree also.

FOOD LINE —

This photo was taken at my kitchen table. I took this picture for my mid-term. The chopsticks lead to the rice. I think the picture was taken at a good angle.

COUNTY SYMBOL —

I enjoy this photo because it is a different perspective on potato barrels and, being from the County, we see plenty of potatoes. The little foliage near the main barrel adds just enough color balance and contrast to strengthen the overall mood of the shot.

DEPTH OF FIELD —

This picture was taken at Mantle Lake Park in Presque Isle. I like this picture because of the way the sun comes in from the top left corner and its depth of field. I also like how vibrant the colors show and how high the contrast is.

LANDSCAPE COMES ALIVE —

The picture at left was taken from Birch Point Campgrounds. I took this because I thought that it would look good and that the landscape was also nice and vibrant. I also liked the color of the leaves and the reflection on the water.

DRAWING THE EYE —

I took the photo at right at Riverside Park in Presque Isle. It was just a small picnic table in the corner that seemed to have great color. So I went over to take a picture of it for our leading lines project. I love how in one spot it is focused and the color really stands out, and then the rest of it is blurred.

RANDOM ORDER —

I took the photo, at left, while on a field trip to Riverside Park. The assignment that week was leading lines and I just wandered off on my own and spotted the bottle caps on the set of bleachers. I walked over and snapped the shot. Miraculously each cap was focused while everything else was not. And the lines from the bleachers lead up to the caps.
