MAKING A CHRISTMAS MEMORY —
I took this photo in front of my Christmas tree at home. This is one of my favorite pictures from this year because it’s colorful and reminds me of Christmastime. I used the rule of thirds to achieve a good composition, and used a shallow depth of field to make the lights in the background blurred.

MOO-VE OVER —
This photo was taken in my pasture. I like this photo best because he’s cute and nicely framed by the fence. I like my cows.

RAIL CROSSING —
My picture of the railroad sign was taken next to the Riverside Restaurant in Presque Isle. Our class took a trip to Main Street in order to take pictures of life on the streets. What I like about my photo is the dark style it gives off with the red and yellow standing out.

LIGHT AS A DANDELION —
This photo was taken on a grassy knoll outside of Presque Isle High School. The two things that I most like about this picture are how the lighting affects the mood of photo and the depth of the photo. I like the way the light affects the mood because it gives it almost a peaceful tone. The way the photo was taken gives it depth and I like the way it does that because it seems to bring you to the center of the dandelion but makes you feel the lightness of the seeds. To me, the lighting has a strong impact on the picture.

HOMESTEAD BARN —
We were assigned to take pictures of barns, both inside and outside of them, for a project in Mrs. White’s photography class. My first instinct was to go to Perham, where my family’s homestead is located, and take pictures of our barns. This image shows my grandfather’s barn from an interesting angle. The brightness of the fall day, on which the picture was taken, highlights the beautiful colors of the landscape in contrast with the white barn. The barn light turned on directly above the shadows draws attention to the barn itself.

AT AN ANGLE —
I enjoy this picture of an old shed, located on a back road in Easton. I took this picture for an assignment in photography. The angle is what I like best about it, because people aren’t always used to seeing a shed sideways or at different angles. I made it black and white to enhance the color of the photo and make it more rustic.
